The Olympic Games are the pinnacle when it comes to airgunning. Air rifle shooting was first added as a sport in 1984, and air pistol followed in 1988. All shooting is done at a distance of 10 meters, and special targets were developed to record scores. The Games begin August 8, and the first shooting competition is on August 9.
